Officially announced as the new Creative Liaison for the Washington Wizards, Wale was a special guest for the team’s home opener against the Milwaukee Bucks last night. In addition to performing a few of his hits during the pregame intros, Wale took advantage of his new role by giving back to a lucky fan in attendance.
Prior to the game, Wale shared an Instagram photo of himself with the caption, “If you're at the phone booth tonight use #WaleWizards and I'll pick one fan to get my kicks signed and delivered to your seat.” A few hours later, the rapper was indeed spotted giving away his ‘True Blue’ Air Jordan 3s to a youngster in the crowd.
Wale is the latest rapper to be officially employed as a public figure for an NBA franchise. Last year, Drake was named the Global Ambassador for the Toronto Raptors.
