Warren Sapp Isn't Thrilled With the Miami Hurricanes' adidas Deal

Warren Sapp Trashes Custom adidas Miami Hurricanes Cleats (1)

Earlier this week, the University of Miami and adidas officially announced a 12-year pact that will have the school outfitted in stripes through 2028. While the deal will be lucrative for the Hurricanes' sports programs, not all of the alumni are excited about Nike's exit.

Warren Sapp, who played at Miami from 1992 to 1994, posted a trashed pair of custom cleats sent to him by adidas on Instagram yesterday. The cleats, created by renown customizer Mache, were commissioned by adidas to celebrate the new partnership. Sapp, a longtime Jordan Brand athlete, added the caption, "No Thanks #BrandJordan."

It's understandable that Sapp would show some brand loyalty, but it's unfortunate that Mache's hard work was caught in the line of fire. However, as one Instagram user commented, Mache actually has more followers (373k) than the Hall of Famer (88k). He'll be just fine.

On another note, Jordan Brand has to be putting together the craziest care package for Sapp right now.
