Today's Vintage Ad is one for the ladies with the Nike Air Huarache Plus running shoe from 1993. The Huarache Plus is a classic Huarache system running shoe with a somewhat unusual design and bold colorways, featuring a bright reptile scale-like design on the Huarache bootie (years before Kobe ever came around). Running shoes were no exception to Nike's strap-happy designs of the early 90's (I.E. Air Unlimited, Air Carnivore) as we see that the Huarache Plus utilized a laceless strap system over the Neoprene bootie for a customized fit.
In this ad featuring an empowering story directed at the woman runner, we see the Huarache Plus in its women's colorway of teal and purple. The mens colorway was very similar with lime and aqua replacing the teal and purple. The Huarache Plus has never retroed. Would you be interested in seeing these return?
