Today we have an ad from the glory days of Nike running and Nike advertisement with this beautiful ad for the Nike 180 Air running shoe. Right off the heels (pun intended) of Nike's iconic Air Max 90, the 180 Air was introduced in 1991. It's innovation was Nike's biggest Air-Sole to date with a 180 degrees visible Air unit that not only gave you maximum cushioning and reduced weight, but also looked really cool!
This two page ad is an introduction to the 180 Air technology and shows what are apparently original schematics for the shoe, along with a look at it's famous "Ultramarine" colorway. Remember this was before the internet and blogs so this very ad was many people's first look at this shoe. In an age when we see sneaker releases sometimes over a year in advance, it's nice to look back at a simpler time when you had to pick up a magazine or just actually walk into a store to see the newest kicks.
