Asics has long been a brand supported by serious runners, as this ad reinforces with its challenge to run down to a local 10K race and see how many runners are wearing Asics. Not much has changed in the 22 since this ad was published, as you're sure to still see plenty of runners sporting Asics.
Asics have stayed true to their GEL cushioning technology, with few changes or additional cushioning systems like most other shoe companies have introduced throughout the years. Think about Nike, who this ad calls out, and how many different forms of cushioning they have used (some successful, some not) since 1990. While innovation is important, Asics doesn't seem to need it. They apparently got it right the first time, something their loyal runners would surely agree with.
In this ad we see a few classic Asics models, including the awesome GT-Express and a great colorway of the GEL-Runner 90. Who would like to see these models return, in addition to the usual cast of GEL Saga and GEL Lyte III retros?
