Nike Better World gives us a behind-the-scenes look at the manufacturing process for the new Nike Football National Team Jerseys, from the collection of discarded plastic bottles to the laser-cutting of ventilation holes.

The 2012 National Team Jersey is made from at least 96% recycled polyester coming from an average of seven plastic bottles, while the shorts are made from 100% recycled polyester coming from an average of six plastic bottles. The new fabric is 23% lighter with a 20% stronger knit structure. Since 2010, Nike Football has utilized an estimated 115 million recycled plastic bottles in its effort to create innovative new kits with lower environmental impact.
