Vans will step away from the skate realm that it's most comfortable in for this, an upcoming collaborative collection with iconic outerwear brand The North Face.
The group takes existing Vans silhouettes the Sk8-Hi and the Desert Chukka and outfits them with tougher materials borrowed from the partner in this collection. Those materials include reverse waffle outsoles, gusseted tongues, heat retention tech, and more.
Ensuring that the collaboration isn't too one-sided is a North Face Nupste jacket with a wavy checkerboard pattern applied to the shoulders.
The Vault by Vans x The North Face collection will release on Oct. 31, 2015, at $120 for the Sk8-His, $130 for the Desert Chukkas, and $300 for the jacket.
