The University of Oregon just became even more of a destination for the sneaker obsessed.

The school, which served as the birthing ground for Nike, has announced its Sports Product Management master's degree program, which will begin in September 2015. The aim of the curriculum is to give students extensive knowledge of, "the consumer-driven business of sports products through the complete product life cycle with significant focus on innovation, international markets, and sustainability."

The program will take place at UO's satellite campus in downtown Portland, which is even closer proximity to the various sportswear brands based in the area like Nike, adidas, and Columbia. Students will have access to insights from industry experts, interactive workshops that give hands-on experience, and will even intern at sportswear positions abroad.

Managing the program is Ellen Schmidt-Devlin, a 30-year Nike veteran who was around during the brand's genesis in Eugene, Ore.

More on the UO Sports Product Management master's degree program, including info on how to apply, can be found here.
