Introducing Under Armour's Speedform Gemini

Under Armour debuts a speedy new running shoe before the 2014 NYC Marathon.

This is the brand new Under Armour Speedform Gemini running sneaker.

You might not yet be used to the idea of Under Armour running designs, but the brand is certainly moving forward in that direction. The new design introduces their Charged Foam technology to the midsole, which is said to be more responsive than their Micro G ride. They'll hit the pavement as soon as this weekend - team members including Vice President of Footwear Design at Under Amour, Dave Dombrow, will be running in them for this weekend's NYC Marathon. Read what he had to say about the shoes below and watch for them to release on January 1st, 2015 for $130 (limited quantities will also be on sale at the Under Armour brand house in SoHo this weekend).

“This is a super technical running shoe. The SpeedForm Apollo Gemini is made up of four distinct polymers that were developed with an adaptive cushioning. That means when you’re standing it’s really soft and comfortable, and when you’re running it will get more responsive. This is great because the cushioning also adapts to the user overall. So that’s our big story, it’s super responsive and super soft as well. We took everything we learned from Apollo to marry it with the SpeedForm upper to continue to improve the fit. It’s still made in the bra factory, super breathable and super lightweight. We’ve added a little more packaging into the deal by adding a bit more foam into the heel but it is still a light shoe overall at 9.9 ounces. The Gemini has a lot more cushioning so this is what I would like to say is someone’s everyday trainer that could also serve as a marathon shoe.” - Dave Dombrow, quote via Sneaker Report
