The Week In Sneaks with Jacques Slade : October 12, 2013
words // Brandon Richard
Helping you stay informed in the midst of one of the most important launch weeks of the year, Jacques Slade is back with another all-new episode of The Week In Sneaks.
The video features run downs of the Nike LeBron 11, Air Jordan XX8 SE, Jordan CP3.VII and adidas D Rose 4. Beyond the colors and pricing, Jacques breaks down some of the tech and performance benefits of each shoe for those of you sneaker shopping for the new season.
This week, Jacques skips his usual Heat Check segment, instead giving you a look at his experience working for Sole Collector at our Portland Headquarters. Obviously an opportunity that we all take VERY seriously. Check out Jacques' experience at SCHQ below and let us know if the gig looks like all it's cracked up to be.
Speaking of which, I think that the interview with Steph Curry on Complex.com on why he switched brands going to UA, is quite interesting.
Well, I know the amount of athletes that [Under Armour] have in sports and the amount of attention that they can provide. ItâÂÂs not that Nike didnâÂÂt, but [UA's] got about eight guys that they can give a person-to-person experience [to]. I wouldnâÂÂt say quicker, but more attentive to an individual standpoint. When I talk about my ankles, its not like IâÂÂve only sprained my ankle in Nikes. TheyâÂÂre obviously a premier brand in basketball. But when I went to the meeting and saw what Under Armour was bringing to the table, and how customizable they could make my shoes for me, that definitely made me a lot more comfortable with switching sides and making Under Armour the new family.
