My collection, while considerably smaller in numbers than most of my peers here at SC, is made up almost entirely of shoes that I truly enjoy wearing, whether it be for their utility, design, nostalgic value or, in the best cases, all three. During the course of a given month, I will wear most of the shoes I own at least once.
The photos below, taken from my Instagram account (@burnwilliams), represent some of my footwear selections from the past two weeks.
Bodega x Nike Air Footscape Woven Motion: These Footscapes are currently my favorite shoes for daily use, especially now during the hot summer months in California and (finally) Oregon. Nike Sportswear and the team at Bodega came up with a great colorway, emphasizing the natural look of the Footscape Woven. They're also quite comfortable.
fragment design x Nike Zoom All Court 2: The All Court is one of my favorite Nike Sportswear models, ever (there's something about that toe cap). When you throw the man, the myth and the legend, Hiroshi Fujiwara, into the mix, these were, as you guys might say, an easy cop for me.
visvim x OriginalFake Logan Lo: This collaboration, which released in 2008, brought together two of my favorite Japanese labels. I remember my reaction when I first saw them in the OF catalog -- I'm a big fan of KAWS, so seeing his artwork splashed across what is normally a very subdued visvim model was pretty exciting. I was stoked to finally get my hands on these years later.
Nike SB Dunk Low "Futura": These particular sneakers are, all things considered, my all-time favorites. As you might be able to infer from the picture below, I definitely got my money's worth, having worn them nearly once every week for about eight years now. Much respect goes to the man behind the colorway, Mr. FUTURADOSMIL, another one of my favorite artists.
Nike Air Yeezy 2: Saturday, June 9, 2012 was one of the more memorable days of the year. Shops around the globe, such as Portland's Compound Gallery and Canada's Livestock, held special raffles for the much-anticipated and very limited Yeezy 2. Surveying the scene, emotions that day ranged from general disappointment to complete meltdown. I was sitting at breakfast with the SC team, pretty sure I wasn't going to get a pair, until I received an email informing me that I too had won one of these raffles. I was pretty happy about it.
