The Kanye Effect: A Look at Yeezy-Inspired Sneakers

What's your favorite Yeezy recreation?

words // Luis Sanchez

One of the best parts of the Air Yeezy line had to be the one of a kind color schemes brought to life by the Swoosh and Nike Sportswear. We got our first look at the unique color combos back in 2008 when the original Air Yeezy released, with three instant classic designs. When the Air Yeezy II arrived in 2012, we also saw the iconic Black/Solar red & Glow-in-the-Dark combo make a return.

Proving the appeal of this classic combo, we began to see a countless amount of Yeezy-inspired custom footwear, and even Yeezy-inspired releases by a number of footwear brand. The influence first became clear with the arrival of the 'Fresh Mint' Air Max 1 FB, and the popular Roshe Run FB. The iconic color combos have even been made available on NIKEiD, recreated over popular silhouettes such as the Zoom KD IV, the Jordan Spiz'ike, and a number of different Kobe signature styles.

Now almost two years since the debut of the Yeezy II, Nike is still utilizing the much appreciated color combos with Yeezy-inspired releases of the Air Foamposite Pro and Air Force 1. Released yesterday and quickly selling out, the Foam Pro featured a Black/Bright Crimson color scheme with Glow-in-the-Dark soles.

Celebrating the Yeezy-inspired color combo, we bring you a look at 10 sneakers covered in Yeezy-inspired color schemes. Check the list below, and be sure to hit the comments to share your favorites, and thoughts on the popular color combo.

Nike Air Max 1 FB

Easily one of the popular Air Max 1 release of the past few years, is this futbol-inspired edition sporting the familiar Yeezy-inspired color scheme. The popular Air Max 1 was released as part of a futbol-inspired pack, but drew comparisons to the Air Yeezy for obvious reasons.

Nike Roshe Run FB

Just like the the Air Max 1, this Roshe Run was released as part of Nike Sportswear's futbol-inspired pack in 2013. The game-changing Roshe Run featured a full black build with pink accents, and a mint-colored sole that looked like it was glowing at all times.

Jordan SC3

One of the most recent Yeezy-inspired releases came from the Jordan Brand with the SC-3. The Jordan brand shamelessly hit the hybrid model with a black build, pink accents and a mint-colored outsole down below.

NIKEiD Yeezy-inspired Creations

NIKEiD has easily been th best route for Yeezy fans to take when looking to recreate their all-time favorite color schemes. We've seen Yeezy-inspired NIKEiD designs over popular basketball styles such as the Zoom KD IV and Kobe 8, along with a variety of Roshe Run creations inspired by Kanye's forever iconic signature shoes by Nike.

Nike Air Foamposite Pro & Air Force 1 Low CMFT

Bringing the now classic and somewhat overused color schemes full circle, this weekend saw Nike Sportswear introduce both an Air Foamposite Pro and Air Force 1 Low CMFT in the clean combination of black, pink and mint. The well-received Air Foamposite Pro rocked a black build and solar red collar lining, while a Glow-in-the-Dark outsole finished off the obvious inspiration below. Just like most Foamposite releases in recent time, Nike Sportswear also introduced the Air Force 1 in a matching color scheme, minus the Glow-in-the-Dark outsoles.
