In honor of ‘Neon’ Deion’s birthday, today we take a look at the lineage of the Nike Air Diamond Turf series.

Deion Sanders signature line was the Nike Air Diamond Turf. It began in 1993 with the Air Diamond Turf and concluded in 1998 with the Air Diamond Turf V. Deion wore them throughout his professional football and baseball career, while he played for the Atlanta Braves, San Francisco 49ers & Giants, Cincinnati Reds and Dallas Cowboys, respectively. To date, only the first three models haven been retroed, the Diamond Turf I, II and DT Max ’96.

The Nike Air Diamond Turf was the first to come back, in 2005 and has seen numerous re-releases since. The Nike Air DT Max ’96 came next, returning for the first time in 2008. Like the Diamond Turf, they too have been re-released a few times. The last model to get retroed and, one of the most highly anticipated was the Nike Air Diamond Turf II. They made their return in 2012, for the first time since 1995.

Even though the first three models of ‘Prime Time’s’ Diamond Turf line are arguably the most popular, some people are still holding out for the returns of his final two models. At this time, the Nike Air Diamond Turf line is not scheduled for a return. However, that can always change, as we could see more colorways of the Air Diamond Turf and DT Max ’96 at any time.  While we wait for the launch of the next round, let’s take a look at the history of the Nike Air Diamond Turf from the first model to the last below.
