The 10 Best Nike Air Max Hyperposite Releases

words // Luis Sanchez

Introduced nearly two seasons ago, the Air Max Hyperposite has been one of Nike Basketball's most dependable performance models.

A hybrid of sorts, the Air Max Hyperposite could have easily been a signature model with their Hyperfuse and Posite build over a 360 Max Air sole. Combining several of the Swoosh's top innovations, Nike Basketball still managed to create a simple design that's provided a canvas for some amazing themes and colorways.

Among the most impressive have been designs tied to New York City, such as the 'Statue of Liberty' edition and the Knicks-inspired colorway for Amar'e Stoudemire. Also at the top of the list for most coveted Hyperposite colorways is the 2013 'Area 72' edition, as well as the lifestyle-driven 'Tiger Camo' pair released back in 2012.

A wide variety of favorable colorways were also released by Nike Basketball, but few were as impressive as the previously mentioned gems we were luckily treated to over the past two seasons. Get a look at the 10 best in the list below, and be sure to share your thoughts and own personal favorites in the comments below.

10. Nike Air Max Hyperposite - 'Tiger Camo'

The 'Tiger Camo' Nike Air Max Hyperposite by Nike Basketball displayed Nike Basketball's versatility when it comes to colorways, and provided us with the perfect off-court option for the innovative basketball shoe. Released in Fall 2012, the rugged Air Max Hyperposite was dressed in the perfect color scheme to replace your everyday pair of boots.

9. Nike Air Max Hyperposite - 'Atomic Green'

As with most new Nike models, we'll almost always see a colorway utilizing some sort of vibrant green hue. The Air Max Hyperposite was no different, with one of the first pairs released arriving in an appealing combination of charcoal and atomic green. The vibrant combination of colors was perfectly executed with charcoal covering the Posite and Fuse upper, while atomic green highlighted the Air Max cushioning set up below.

8. Nike Air Max Hyperposite - Dark Obsidian/Dynamic Blue

Another simple yet still impressive color scheme for the Air Max Hyperposite arrived covered in a combination of Obsidian and Dynamic Blue. The combination of blue hues was one of several toned down looks for the Hyperposite, and was just another suitable everyday option by Nike Basketball. As you'll notice with most colorways, the Dark Obsidian/Dynamic Blue colorway had appeal both on and off the court.

7.Nike Air Max Hyperposite - Black/Bright Crimson

The Black/Bright Crimson was also another everyday option that was quite impressive, released as one of the debut colorways for the Air Max Hyperposite. Just like most of the two-toned looks for the Hyperposite, this pair sported a muted upper in black with energizing bright crimson accents over the Swoosh logos and 360 Max Air bags.

6. Nike Air Max Hyperposite - 'Pop Art'

One of the more energetic looks for the Hyperposite was last year's 'Pop Art' edition which featured appealing graphics over a blue-based build. The dark blue dominated look was topped with a pop art-inspired graphic that helped capture the attention of many.  Adding to the already impressive design was a Glow in the Dark outsole down below.

5. Nike Air Max Hyperposite - 'Fireberry'

The 'Fireberry' colorway by Nike Basketball will go down as the most recognizable Hyperposite colorway as it was the first colorway to ever be revealed. The arrival of the Hyperposite not only provided us with yet another impressive performance model by Nike Basketball, it also provided us with some unique never before seen combinations of colors right off the bat. The 'Fireberry' colorway was one of the first to be released, and still stands as one of the most impressive Hyperposite releases yet.

4. Nike Air Max Hyperposite - 'Arctic Green'

Although not completely identical, this 'Arctic Green' colorway is most recognized with the pair worn by Rajon Rondo on Christmas Day 2012. This colorway once again showcased Nike Basketball's creativity and ability to think outside the box when it comes to deciding what colors help bring out the best in a shoe. A refreshing mint upper combined with soft grey accents and vibrant red hits for yet another one of a kind Air Max Hyperposite.

3. Nike Air Max Hyperposite - Area 72

At first, the 'Area 72' colorway of the Hyperposite was somewhat overlooked thanks to all the other releases by Nike at the time. That quickly changed, as fans began to appreciate the Area 72-inspired design that complimented the Hyperposite's innovative design perfectly. Nike Basketball hit the now widely popular shoe with a grey upper and a meteor print in an eye-catching orange hue to match the Swoosh logos, collar lining and 360 Max Air tooling. Released in limited numbers, this is definitely one of the tougher to acquire Air Max Hyperposite releases from Nike Basketball.

2. Nike Air Max Hyperposite - Amar'e Stoudemire 'Knicks' PE

First worn by Amar'e Stoudemire on court, it's only right that this NYC-inspired color scheme is ranked this high. This Hyperposite rocked the classic NYC combination of royal and orange over a black-based upper with Amar'e Stoudemire personalizations over the tongue on each shoe.

1. Nike Air Max Hyperposite - Statue of Liberty

Released as part of the Battle of the Burroughs during the summer of 2012, the 'Statue of Liberty' Air Max Hyperposite was without a doubt the most unique pairs released and one of Nike Basketball's most creative themes of 2012 overall. The limited edition Hyperposite took direct inspiration from the Statue of Liberty with a mint green upper and gold accents to mimic the monument's aging texture. Just like most similar shoes covered in similar tones, the mint hue that brought these to life proved to be undeniably appealing once again, helping put these at the top of the list for best Hyperposite colorways yet.
