Spike Lee Tells Pablo Prigioni He Can't Wear Purple Shoes; He Does Anyway

Knicks Rookie Pablo Prigioni has been wearing a Laker-themed Kobe VI all season that Spike Lee doesn't approve of.

Before a Knicks shootaround this past Monday, Spike Lee had just one request for Knicks guard Pablo Prigioni.

"You can't wear purple man."

Prigioni, a former Euroleague star and now the NBA's oldest rookie ever at 35, had been lacing up a pair of white, purple and yellow Zoom Kobe VIs all season for the Knicks. Spike didn't approve.

Spike was even quick to suggest a NIKEiD order, which was quickly shot down. "They said old model," Pablo fired back.

"This is the orange and blue baby!"

As Spike begged of him to wear literally anything else, Prigioni even tried to claim they were blue, and he apparently just doesn't want to switch out of his trustry Kobe VIs. He wore them in that night's game against the Rockets, on Thursday against the Bulls, and again earlier today against the Timberwolves.

Considering that "Lakers Home" was the working nickname for these VIs, and the official colorway is White / Del Sol - Neutral Grey-Concord, we're going to be siding with Spike on this one.
