Yesterday, athletes around the NBA celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day by lacing up special sneakers from their respective brands.
For Team adidas, it was the pack inspired by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for Black History Month. In addition to the pairs releasing, Dwight Howard wore a 'BHM' colorway of his D Howard 5 signature shoe, and Harrison Barnes played in a similar version of the Crazy Ghost 2014.
With Kemba Walker sidelined, Under Armour was represented by Stephen Curry and Brandon Jennings. Curry wore his Curry One signature shoe in an unreleased 'BHM' colorway, while Jennings donned the 'Innovate' ClutchFit Drive Low.
Mostly absent from the court were the 'BHM' efforts by Nike and Jordan Brand. Jared Sullinger laced up the XX9 and the Lakers' Jordan Clarkson debuted the Kyrie 1, but the actual signature athletes wore team-inspired Player Exclusives.
See which special make-ups did hit the court in today's MLK Day edition of #SoleWatch.
