NBA teams continued to open the season on Wednesday night, providing us with a stacked lineup of sneakers for today's Sole Watch.
The buzz is finally back in Charlotte, where Kemba Walker knocked down a stepback jumper in the Under Armour ClutchFit Drive to give the Hornets a 108-106 overtime win over the Milwaukee Bucks. Team owner Michael Jordan watched courtside in his 'Hornets' Air Jordan 13 PE.
Derrick Rose, in the adidas D Rose 5 Boost, made his regular season return for the Chicago Bulls against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Perhaps showing that they're the team to beat in the East, the Bulls easily handled the Knicks 104-80. Laced up in a clean Nike Hyperdunk 2014 PE, Pau Gasol had 21 points and 11 rebounds in his Chicago debut.
Highly publicized rookie Andrew Wiggins got his career underway as the Minnesota Timberwolves visited the Memphis Grizzlies. The Wolves gave the Grizz all they could handle, but it was the home team pulling away late for the 105-101 victory. Wiggins had just 6 points and 3 rebounds in his long-awaited debut, but broke out a fresh Crazylight Boost PE for the game.
Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers continued their slow start to the season, dropping a road game in Phoenix 119-99. The news wasn't all bad for Kobe though — he turned a few heads with a purple-based Nike Kobe 9 Elite PE.
Kevin Durant wasn't on the floor for Oklahoma City's season opener in Portland, but the 'Concord' Air Jordan 11 was. New Team Jordan athlete LaMarcus Aldridge laced up the classic and dropped a Jordan-esque 27 points to lift the Trail Blazers over the short-handed Thunder 106-89.
