Today, Los Angeles Sparks forward Candace Parker was named WNBA MVP for the 2013 season.
Parker averaged 17.9 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game, helping the Sparks finish second in the Western Conference. This is the second MVP for Parker, who also won it as a rookie in 2008. She ran second to Tina Charles for the award last season.
This year's vote was one of the closest in WNBA history. Parker's 234 total points narrowly beat out Minnesota's Maya Moore (218) and Chicago's Elena Della Donne (189). Parker becomes the fifth player to earn multiple WNBA MVP awards, joining Lauren Jackson, Lisa Leslie, Sheryl Swoopes and Cynthia Cooper.
Earlier this season, Parker also won the All-Star Game MVP Award.
As the first female of adidas Basketball, Parker spent the season playing in PE colorways of the Crazy Fast in the first half and adizero Crazy Light 3 in the second. Read on for a look at the custom kicks she laced up on her road to MVP.
