With 24 weeks now in the books and the playoffs tipping off Saturday, we present the final adidas Basketball sneaker recap of the regular season.
After the roller coaster season of all roller coaster seasons, Dwight Howard's Los Angeles Lakers are heading to the playoffs. Dwight was the defensive anchor in last night's 99-95 overtime win over the Houston Rockets, propelling the Lakers into the 7th seed and a first round matchup with the San Antonio Spurs.
Speaking of the Spurs, welcome back T-Mac! San Antonio signed the veteran forward Tuesday to fill the void left by Stephen Jackson's release. McGrady suited up for the Atlanta Hawks year and spent most of this year putting up big numbers in China. The Spurs hope McGrady still has enough left in the tank to help them get back to the NBA Finals.
Sadly, we've seen the last of Damian Lillard this season, other than the Rookie of the Year Award presentation that should be taking place in the near future. Lillard not only surpassed the rookie record for three-pointers made in a season, he broke Portland's franchise record, finishing with 185. Damian also became the third rookie to score 1,500 points and dish out 500 assists in a season, joining Allen Iverson and Oscar Robertson.
Talking kicks, the Knicks' Iman Shumpert was once again the week's standout, ending his D-Rose holdout by lacing up "The Bean" Rose 3 Low against the Hawks last night. Shump also rocked the Real Deal and Top Ten 2000 this past week.
Chicago's Jimmy Butler is slowly becoming a Sneaker Watch All-Star as well. Butler recently wore the Crazy 8, Real Deal and TMAC 1 for the playoff-bound Bulls.
