One of the many stories of Christmas lore introduces us to Krampus, a mythical creature recognized in Alpine countries. Legend has it that Krampus accompanies Saint Nicholas during the Christmas season, warning and punishing bad children. Krampus even goes as far as stuffing children in a sack, whisking them away to his lair to devour for dinner. The story sounds a little morbid and I'll be sticking to Christmas as I know it, but it does make for a fun source of sneaker design inspiration.
Enter famed deck designer Sean Cliver, who recently linked up with Nike Skateboarding to create the "Krampus" SB Dunk High. The shoe features a buttery black leather upper, accented by red on the Swoosh logos and heel. Fuzzy green material lines the interior, while Krampus graphics adorn the tongues and panoramic insoles.
According to SPoT, the "Krampus" SB Dunk High will hit retail in Quickstrike fashion next month. Stick with Sole Collector for updates as we approach the release.
