Russell Westbrook Wears The Jordan Shine In Red / Red

The self-proclaimed "fashion king" once again stepped out in a daring fit during the playoffs, this time debuting a $400 upcoming Jordan lifestyle sneaker.

As the NBA evolved from the post-Allen Iverson and resulting league-imposed Dress Code era of the mid-2000s, we've seen players throughout the league take on more daring and inventive looks with their off-court attire.

The most notable and debated player is probably OKC Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook. During a time where most players opt for suits on the way to their highly contested playoff games, Russ has continually worn literally whatever he feels like. All teal. All red. All white. Why not?

For Game 1 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals 2nd Round, Westrbook donned a picnic-esque plaid extended shirt, pastel yellow pants, and the new "high end" Jordan Shine. The Shine, clearly contrived as a response to the triple red Balenciaga Arenas that players routinely wore during last year's playoffs, features a luxe leather upper with woven strips through the midfoot, all atop a partially translucent red Air Jordan 1 bottom. And perhaps most importantly, it keeps Jordan athletes in Jordan sneakers.

Stay tuned for more launch details on the Jordan Shine, which is said to be releasing at Barney's in the near future for $400, and let us know what you think of Russell Westbrook's latest fit in the comments section below.
