It's the world's largest running event, and sneaker brands in the running space are dropping special makeups of their key styles to celebrate this year's TCS New York City Marathon. Even if you're not one of the over 50 thousand planning to run a grueling 26.2 miles through five boroughs of New York, here's a detailed look at three of the sneakers that'll be spotted this year.

Brooks Freedom Adrenaline GTS

Concepted by Brooks' Shane Downey, the man behind the revamping of the brand's heritage line and collabs, the Freedom Adrenaline GTS isn't subtle about its nod to the Statue of Liberty. Featuring submlimated images of Lady Liberty and the New York City skyline, the sneaker also uses oxidized green, matte silver, and orange. There's also small details like copper-like lace aglets and branding on the sock liner that play to the Statue of Liberty theme.

Asics Gel Kayano 21 NYC

Price: $160

As the official partner of the TCS New York City Marathon, Asics is the only sneaker brand is that can officially use NYC Marathon branding. Using a neon and red color combo, the latest version of the Kayano uses a stretch-fit mesh in the upper and the brand's Impact Guidance cushioning system.

adidas Tempo Boost

Partnering up with organization AKTIV Against Cancer for the fifth year in a row, adidas is dropping a capsule collection of sneakers and apparel at the NYC Marathon. Sold exclusively at the event's Health and Fitness Expo, 100 percent of the proceeds of the adidas Tempo Boost and other pieces in the AKTIV x adidas collection will go directly to the AKTIV Against Cancer organization, which promotes physical activity as a way to treat cancer. In addition, adidas is also donating $1 to the charity for each photo tagged with #mystepmatters.
