Rita Ora Talks to Women's Wear Daily About Her adidas Collection

As reported earlier this year, Rita Ora has teamed up with adidas to design her very own collection of footwear and apparel. Today, Women's Wear Daily published an exclusive interview with the British singer and fashionista, in which she details what we can expect to see included in her seasonal capsules.

According to WWD, five different capsules will roll out on three global launch days. The 'Black' line releases on August 21; 'Pastel' and 'Colorblock' Packs will follow on September 4; and the 'Spray' and 'Roses' lines will drop on November 1. The product range will include footwear, apparel, outerwear and accessories ranging in price from a $30 beanie to a $500 leather varsity jacket. Rita's collaboration will run for three seasons until Fall 2015.

Inspired by Ora's London style, the 'Black' line will be sold exclusively at adidas Originals stores and adidas.com.

“I’m a massive fan of the brand,” Ora told WWD. “I grew up working at a sneaker store when I was 16 and am a huge sneakerhead. It’s so cool that I’m able to do this with a brand that I sold when I was younger.”

The partnership got underway when adidas officials approached Ora during New York Fashion Week last September. Once a deal was reached, she immediately flew to adidas Headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany and went to work.

“I studied all of their shoes and their archives from the past 50 years,” she said. “Before I started, I wanted to meet the team that was going to do it with me. So I did a performance at their Christmas party and met everyone. I was there for four hours going through a mood board, seeing what they have, what they don’t have and bouncing back and forth with ideas. From there on, literally we’d meet every two weeks for a five-hour meeting.”

Ora joins an exciting new class of adidas collaborators that also includes Kanye West and Pharrell Williams.
