Following the earlier-than-expected return of Kevin Love, the Minnesota Timberwolves received more great news last week when it was announced that point guard Ricky Rubio had been cleared for full-contact practices. Off the court since suffering a torn left ACL back in March, Rubio has run through drills with the team and is reported to be targeting mid-December for a return.
Over the summer, Rubio became one of the first dominoes to fall in the loaded summer sneaker free agency class when he inked a multi-year deal with adidas Basketball. Under the terms of the agreement, Ricky will not only wear adidas shoes, but he'll also be featured in new marketing initiatives like the Foot Locker #Approved "Backyard Wrestler" ad airing on television now.
At Minnesota's shootaround on Friday, Rubio was spotted putting up shots in White/Blue colorway of the adidas adizero Crazy Light 2. Ricky worked on some personal colorway using miadidas when he visited Portland HQ earlier this fall, so we can probably expect the Crazy Light 2 to be his game shoe when he returns next month.
