Revolucionario Design Presents a Wild Air Jordan 1 For Your Art Collection

Air Jordan and the art world collide again, this time inspired by Mexican traditions.

by Brennan Hiro Williams

We have seen Air Jordans celebrated through a variety of mediums in recent years, from detailed illustrations to whole pairs dipped in bronze. This week, another wild tribute has surfaced, this time inspired by traditional Mexican art.

This special piece is the work of Canada-based Mexican artist Ricky Sosa, who chose the 'Bred' Air Jordan 1 for its role in revolutionizing the sneaker industry and street culture. Known for his takes on traditional Wixáritari art (see his awesome Peyotes Muertos skulls below), Sosa covered each shoe in intricate, hand-beaded patterns depicting peyote and scorpion figures.

Those interested in the art piece can place their bid on eBay now. If you're in the Toronto area, you can check it out in person at Revolucionario Studio (592 Markham Street) beginning on November 20.
