For what would end up being Shaq's final season in Orlando, Reebok designers wanted to create a polarizing sneaker for Shaq, arguably the league's most visible player at the time. The result was the Shaqnosis, a "hate it or love it" model that generated passion reactions fully embraced by the brand. Strong energy behind the '95 release led to a spin-off collection called Mobius, which played off the Shaqnosis' 50/50 split. Models in the collection included Frank Thomas' Big Hurt and Nick Van Exel's Blast.
Celebrating its rekindled partnership with Shaquille O'Neal, Reebok Classics is bringing back the Shaqnosis this summer. The shoe will be released Friday, July 19 for $125 at Foot Locker, Finish Line, Jimmy Jazz, Shiekh, City Gear, Shoe Palace and reebok.com.
