The first ever Premier x New Balance collaboration is coming this week in the form of the New Balance 998 shown here.
Being in Michigan, Premier saw it fit to use the sneaker to reference the state's heritage in automobile production. After all, New Balance sneakers make a fine canvas for such a tribute given that so many are also made in the United States. The sneaker seems to be referencing the Ford Model T, which covertly appears in the press release photos for the shoe. The black and tan of the colorway reference a black chassis and a gold front panel, both of which can be found on the Model T.
The Premier x New Balance 998 keeps the automobile flavor strong by packaging in a hangtag featuring a mini key and license plate.
The Premier x New Balance 998 will release on Saturday, Aug. 22 for $220 in sizes 7 through 13. The sneakers will release at 9 a.m. EST in store and at noon online the same day.
