At age 38, Peyton Manning is as good as it gets when it comes to NFL quarterbacking. Sure, there was that debacle in the Super Bowl, but a poorly timed bad showing doesn't diminish what he's still able to get done on the field.

Last night, Manning added another big notch to his highly accomplished belt — the NFL's all-time record for passing touchdowns in a career. Late in the second quarter, he threw 8 yards to Demaryius Thomas for passing touchdown number 509, breaking Brett Favre’s record of 508. He found Thomas again early in the third quarter to move to 510.

Manning broke the record playing 56 less games than Favre. He missed the entire 2011 season recovering from neck surgery.

After 12 years of wearing Reebok, Manning broke the record as a Nike athlete in Zoom Code Elite cleats, which are probably en route to Canton. Nike congratulated Manning with a special graphic during the game.

While he's poised to continue shattering the record books, Manning has one goal in mind — another Super Bowl ring. His Broncos continue their journey back to the big game this Thursday against the division rival San Diego Chargers.
