Penny Hardaway is coming to the aid of a longtime friend and fellow Memphis hoop legend in his biggest time of need.
Desmond Merriweather, or Coach Dez, has been battling colon cancer for the past 5 years. With costs for surgeries and treatments mounting up, his family and friends have taken to fundraising website GiveForward to ask for help.
As an extra incentive, Hardaway is offering a pair of autographed ‘Mystery’ Foamposites as a giveaway prize for donations. Each contribution of $100 or more will be an entry into a drawing, with the winner chosen at random by Penny himself. Stand up for Dez at giveforward.com.
