NikeStore Now Saving You A 'Spot In Line'

Nikestore has added a 'Spot In Line' feature, which generates a virtual 'line' for customers who were not able to add the desired product to his or her cart.

In addition to an overhaul of the Twitter RSVP system, Nikestore has added a 'Spot In Line' feature, which generates a virtual 'line' for customers who were not able to add the desired product to his or her cart.

For select high-demand products (basically everything these days), you may receive a message that states: "WE SAVED YOU A SPOT IN LINE!" after you click to add the product to your cart.

The message means you're in line for the product, but does not guarantee availability. Keep the window open and don't refresh your screen. If you close the window, you lose your spot in line. Your wait time may vary.

If the product becomes available, it will be added to your cart and reserved for a brief period of time. Nike recommends checking out and completing your purchase right away.

If the product is not available, you will receive an "Out of Stock" message, which means the product has sold out.

We've seen Foot Locker, Eastbay and Footaction utilize a similar process for their releases. Do you think this is a beneficial move for Nikestore moving forward?
