Two-time defending NBA scoring champion Kevin Durant will return to the court this season (CBA willing) in his fourth signature shoe, the Nike Zoom KD IV. Pictured here is a Spring 2012 colorway that we also saw used on the Zoom KD III earlier this year.
This pair features a metallic Cool Grey upper with highly breathable mesh quarter panels a midfoot support cross-strap. White handles Swoosh branding on the strap, while Del Sol accents the branding and technology notation, as well as the inner liner. The midsole is also done in grey, while Del Sol helps out a little on the outsole.
What makes this shoe special, as is the case with any KD shoe, is how much personalization is incorporated into the design. In a lot of ways, his shoe is used as a canvas similar to his collection of tattoos that he keeps close. We see callouts to his grandmother Barbara, brother Tony and late AAU coach Charles Craig. His "Work Hard, Stay Focused" motto also appears along the insteps. There will certainly be a lot more personalized elements as more detailed photos surface.
Look for the Cool Grey KD IV do drop in Febaruary of 2012.
