Nike's Most Durable Tennis Sneaker Yet

Nike debuts the Zoom Cage sequel that's built to last.

Two years ago Nike debuted the Air Max Cage, a model that was touted as "the ultimate in lightweight, durable tennis footwear."

It took a while, things seem to move slower in the world of tennis designs at the Swoosh, but the sequel is finally here. The shoe brings back the Drag-On system that serves to better lock down sliding players, but ditches the Air Max cushioning in favor of Zoom. Most important in terms of the durability claim is the outsole, which is 6 mm deep and has thicker treads in high-wear zones of the foot. They've not just piled on material here though–the model also shaves off thickness on spots where it's not needed. The Nike Zoom Cage 2 will make its debut on Jan. 14, 2015 at Nike retailers worlwide.
