It's once again time for Doernbecher Hospital's annual fall launch party, at which they unveil the newest Freestyle Footwear Collection designed by patients. This year's event will be held on Saturday, October 27 at the Portland Art Museum.

The Doernbecher Freestyle IX launch event will feature more than 400 business and community leaders coming together to see the shoes, bid on limited pairs and meet the designers in person. After the shoes have been unveiled, they will be sole to the general public with the proceeds going to the hospital.

Now in its ninth year, Doernbecher Freestyle has raised over $4 million for the hospital, which uses the funds for clinical programs, hospital construction and providing care for uninsured children.

The Freestyle IX group is made up of six designers, who you can see in photos above and below. Here's a little information about each of these brave kids.

Top Row:

Finnigan Mooney, a 10-year old from Portland, Oregon who would want to fly if he had a super power.

Chad Berg, a 15-year old from Albany, Oregon who loves watching and playing sports.

Kylie Bell, a 16-year old from Gresham, Oregon who loves to dance.

Bottom Row:

Grant Olsen, an 11-year old from Camas, Washington whose secret talent is learning to play the electric guitar.

Autumn Boynton, a 10-year old from Portland, Oregon who wants to be a rockstar when she grows up.

Oswaldo Jimenez, a 10-year old from Salem, Oregon who loves to play soccer.
