As part of its ongoing litigation with three former designers, Nike has subpoenaed top adidas executives including Mark King, the head of adidas North America, and Eric Liedtke, an adidas executive board member.

The subpoenas will seek to determine whether the ex-Nike designers disclosed any trade secrets to top-ranking adidas execs.

It's now up to the courts to reject the subpoenas, which would keep adidas higher ups from having to come to court to testify, or to accept them, allowing Nike to depose adidas executives.

The Portland Business Journal, in summing up recent happenings in the case, also reports that, last week, Nike claimed adidas misused its ability to label certain pieces of evidence in court documents as for "attorney's eyes only." Nike claims adidas has been misusing this label in order to hide information relevant to the case.
