First utilized in the Air Max 1 designed by Tinker Hatfield, the idea of visible Air came to life when Tinker was visiting the Pompidou Centre in Paris. The building's exposed architecture sparked Tinker's idea of exposing the inner workings of Air Max, leading to visible Air finally becoming a reality as part of the Air Max 1, or as some may call it, the Air Max '87.
