Kanye West has said multiple times that part of the reason for him ending his partnership with Nike was the brand's refusal to give him a royalty on the product he created.
According to West though, they did offer him $4 million per year to continue making designs with the company. The info comes from West's lecture over the weekend at the School of the Art Institute Chicago, which Complex has the full transcription for.
In the lecture, West also complained that Nike was treading the same ground he had years prior with its partners.
"Mark Parker would go and find people who I collaborated with years before, and try to do collaborations with them to seem cool," West said. "And as you see, Nike hasn’t done like, one cool thing this year."
