Tonight, six brave young patient designers will unveil unique Nike and Jordan sneaker designs as part of Doernbecher Freestyle 12. The kids from OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital worked alongside Nike designers to create footwear and apparel that represents elements of their lives.

Doernbecher Freestyle was founded in 2004, when Nike Creative Director of Global Brand Presentations and Doernbecher Foundation board member Michael Doherty got the idea from his son Connor. Now in its twelfth year, the program has raised more than $11 million for the hospital, funding clinical programs, hospital construction and providing care for uninsured children.

Tonight's event, being held at the Portland Art Museum, is expected to start at 7:00 p.m. EST. And we'll be in attendance to provide live coverage, which you can follow throughout the night in this post.

UPDATE: The Doernbecher Freestyle collection releases Saturday, Nov. 21 at nike.com and select Nike retailers. Click here for detailed information on each shoe.
