Nike Introduces the Hyper Elite Crew Socks
words // Zac Dubasik
Basketball season is almost here, and while you've probably spent considerable time thinking about which shoes to hoop in, you now have a new option as far as socks. Nike's Elite hoops socks have become more and more popular over the past few years, thanks in large part to the "Galaxy" printed edition, launched at the 2012 All-Star Game.
Nike has taken their basketball socks to an even more advanced level now though, with the introduction of the Hyper Elite Crew Socks. Features include:
* Dri-FIT fabric to wick sweat away and help keep you dry and comfortable
* Compression fit at midfoot for stability and to help keep cushioning in place
* Strategically placed, multi-density cushioning for dynamic impact protection
* Left/right specific for enhanced fit
* Reinforced heel and toe for enhanced durability
To help launch the socks, Nike has released two videos featuring James Harden and Nneka Ogwumike discussing "sock etiquette." Three additional videos will be revealed this week, between October 22-24. Check out the videos below, and a closer look at the socks on the next page. The socks retail for $18 a pair, and are available now at Nike.com.
Lol you obviously don't ball. Wear a pair of these or any other basketball elite and it does make %100 difference.
And as far everyday use obv 10x more comfortable to wear. I personally don't wear the elites other than for basketball, but I have plenty of other socks that are comfortable too
It's not obvious he doesn't ball. I've stuck with Hanes ankle socks for over 15 years. I've got a pair of elites and, yes, I felt like a dbag when I've worn them. It's bad enough that I've got on J's and Nike or UA shorts / tank. I don't need another logo and I prefer the feel and look of my socks to be basically no show. As for the performance, I've never liked dri-fit with any stock sockliner. Always seems to slide around no matter how locked in my foot is in the shoe.
You're right I may have went over board and said he hasn't balled... But more so played in the socks. I'm not saying I play in them everytime but I do in league games. I roll mine down to the pointyou can't see the logo. Between work, leisure and balling I'm wearing high socks 80% of the time cause that's what's comfortable to me. And if your wearing logo shorts and shirts and feel likel a dbag that's on you. If your a douche, throwing socks in the mix is the least or the problem/ I don't wear logo t shirts often so I can't relate to you on that .
I'mj saying the. Elite basketball socks are amazing for on me feet and I can tell a difference when playing ball.
And I feel like calling bs on Hanes anlke socks when ballling... They feel grimey after the first wear.........
No BS. Tried Dri-fit when they first came out 15-20 years ago as a young'n and never took to it. I've gone back and forth between Hanes ankle and no-shows.
