Nike Huarache Robbery Attempt Leaves Boy with Broken Ribs

Only in England.

A boy in Birmingham, UK was hospitalized after being attacked over his Nike Huaraches, seen above.

16-year-old Connor O'Neill was approached by a group of ten, Mirror reports, one of whom complimented his sneakers and asked what size they were before telling O'Neill "take them off." While trying to walk away, O'Neil was jump-kicked from behind. The force from the kick knocked him to the ground, leaving him with three broken ribs and a sprained wrist and ankle.

O'Neill managed to keep his Huaraches during the attack.

Sneaker robberies are, unfortunately, not that rare, but usually involve more coveted footwear. While difficult to track down during its first run, the "Triple Black" Nike Air Huarache has been reissued several times since and is by no means a limited shoe.
