The wait is over. After four MVP awards, three NBA Championships, and almost 14 years, LeBron James’ first signature shoe, the Nike Air Zoom Generation, is finally coming back. That’s even longer than we had to wait for the return of the original Air Jordan, which retroed just nine years after its 1985 launch.
In honor of the announcement of its imminent return, we’re taking a look back at the history of the shoe and each colorway that originally dropped during its 2003-04 run. Will we see more OG colorways come back? Samples and PEs that were coveted but never hit retail? Brand new inspirations?
