Though not technically a signature sneaker, the Nike Air Up famously hit NBA hardwood in 94-95 on the feet of stars like Scottie Pippen and Penny Hardaway. The latter rocked an Orlando-themed colorway that will finally make its return to retail early next year.
The 'Orlando' Air Up is back with a full leather build, featuring wavy black and white panels that acted as somewhat of a precursor to what we'd see from Penny's signature line in the years ahead. Game Royal fills the Air Up logo on the tongue, patent Swoosh branding on the side panels and Flight notation on the heel. White and black also share the Air cushioned midsole and outsole.
Expect the 'Orlando' Air Up to release Saturday, January 18 for $130 at nike.com, Foot Locker, Eastbay and other Nike Sportswear retailers.
