The second signature of Andre Agassi. Today we take a look at the lineage of the Nike Air Tech Challenge II.

Originally released in 1990, the Nike Air Tech Challenge II was released in numerous colorways, both for men and women. A low top version followed as well. In the early 2000s, fans of this Agassi classic began to rise in demand for a retro. In 2008, eighteen years later, the Tech Challenge II was retroed for the first time. Only two colorways were released during this time and, their release ended up not being as popular as expected.

In 2013, Andre Agassi re-signed with Nike and it was announced his signature footwear line would be returning. A few limited releases came and went before 2014, when the Nike Air Tech Challenge II retro would come back in full. A few OG’s along with some new colorways made to pay homage to some of Agassi’s famous tournament moments were released. While most of the ‘tourney’ inspired pairs dropped overseas, stateside releases are now confirmed.

Along with some of the tournament editions, a few new colorways of the Tech Challenge II are also set to drop in the future. As we await the debut of new colorways and possibly more retros going into 2015, let’s take a look at the history of the Nike Air Tech Challenge II from its first release up to the most recent retro below.
