Tonight's 2014 Doernbecher Freestyle unveiling continues with a great Nike Air Max Penny 1 designed by eight-year-old Alejandro Muñoz. Alejandro was born with kidneys that have never functioned well and will eventually fail. He spent the first 12 days of his life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and has required frequent trips to the OHSU Doernbecher hospital ever since. Five different medications, weekly shots and regular blood drawings have not been enough to keep the feisty young football fan away from his favorite sport.

An avid follower of the San Francisco 49ers, Alejandro's love of football comes to life on his special Air Max Penny 1. Personal drawings and designs cover the shoe's entire reflective upper, including a 49ers logo and a self-portrait on one of the tongues. A translucent outsole with a glow-in-the-dark Swoosh sit below, while Alejandro signs off on his work with his full name across the heel tabs.

You can buy the Doernbecher Nike Air Max Penny 1, complete with matching apparel, on Sunday, November 23 at Nike.com.
