During the fall of 2011, Nike Basketball made light of the NBA's lockout by dropping a pack of shoes inspired by alternate career paths a few of the brand's athletes would have chosen if basketball weren't an option. For Kevin Durant, aspirations of being a meteorologist throughout his youth led to the creation of the "Weatherman" KD IV. The shoe was an absolute winner at retail and remains one of the top two or three most collectible shoes in the Durant line today. So seeing weather maps and isobars popping up on another one of your favorite silhouettes this year should come as no surprise.

Seen here are images of a "Weatherman" Nike Air Foamposite One sample with a tentative Fall '13 launch. Weather map graphics and contour lines appear throughout the shoe's upper. Black works the eyestay, vamp, inner lining and pull-tab, while blue helps on the heel. Blue and volt link up for various branding marks, while the usual translucent rubber outsole completes the look below.

From what we understand, this is a very early stage sample, meaning the shoe could see a few changes before making its way to retail. As is, are you looking forward to the "Weatherman" drop? Let us know by voting 'Cop or Not.'
