Nike Quietly Released the Air Diamond Turf 6

Ready for primetime.

by Brandon Richard

From Penny Hardaway to Scottie Pippen, Nike has been in a signature line resurrecting mood for the past few years. While Deion Sanders is breaking bread with Under Armour these days, his old Diamond Turf series lives on with the introduction of a sixth model.

The Air Diamond Turf 6 is, more or less, a modern interpretation of the original Diamond Turf. Leather on the upper is replaced with fused synthetics and composite mesh, excluding the traditional midfoot cross-strap. Flywire, an obviously new addition to the series, brings extra support along the eyestay. A familiar tooling setup, including back-loaded Max Air, supports the ride below.

Sanders' last model, the Diamond Turf 5, launched all the way back in 1998.

Nike has been strangely quiet about this new release, which recently turned up at VILLA in 49ers-esque Black/Chilling Red and Black/White-Hyper Punch-Volt at VILLA for $140 each.
