Nike Air Bakin Back in Stock This Saturday
words // Brandon Richard
Last made available as a 'Ripstop' House of Hoops exclusive in 2011, one of Nike Basketball's biggest cult classics kicks off another round this weekend.
Originally released in 1997, the Air Bakin was mostly known for being the game shoe of Miami Heat point guard Tim Hardaway. The shoe also sparked a bit of controversy when some believed the unique flaming 'Air' logo on the heel resembled Arabic text for 'Allah.' As a result, the Air Bakin was recalled and rebranded out of respect for the Muslim religion.
Now, the Bakin returns in the OG Black/Red colorway that was laced up by Hardaway. You can get your pair this weekend for $150 at retailers like ruvilla.com.
