Australia's Sneaker Freaker magazine continues their 10th anniversary with a New Balance collaboration for the classic 998 running shoe. Their version of the shoe labeled the "Tassie Devil" consists of black and a variety of purple suedes on the upper and a "toothed" midsole, topped off with black speckles.
To make the deal even sweeter, a portion of the proceeds from the shoe will go to helping the endangered Tasmanian Devils:
Proudly named after our native Australian marsupial the Tasmanian Devil, it’s a sad fact that the chunky little carnivorous critters are suffering from an epidemic of facial tumour disease that threatens their existence. Some estimates suggest up to 50% of the wild population has perished. To that end, we will be making a healthy donation to the campaign to save these unique animals.
