The New Balance 996 here is one of the first entries. The shoes likely won't ever get a detailed explanation as far as how the color choices relate to the theme, so it's going to be up to readers to take guesses. Then again, they could ignore the theme completely at just take the shoe at face value – something that doesn't seem to happen often in this era of nicknamed footwear.
