NBA Sneaker Watch // Jordan Brand Weekly Recap - Week 2

November 13th 2012 | 103 comments

words // Luis Sanchez

The Jordan Brand once again took over the NBA hardwood this past week, with a number of players lacing up both old and new Jumpman favorites.

Raptors' DeMar DeRozan once again turned heads on the court with his selection of Air Jordan classics, lacing up the "Altitude" Air Jordan Retro 13 with Toronto's one of a kind digi-camo uniforms. We also saw the "Johnny Kilroy" Air Jordan 9 Retro on DeRozan's feet, continuing a so far great season of sneakers for the Raptors forward.

Nate Robinson continues to enjoy his time emulating MJ with the Bulls, lacing up the "Hare" Air Jordan 7 Retro and "Chicago" Air Jordan 10 Retro over the past week. Blake Griffin appears to be making the most of his recently signed footwear deal with the Jordan Brand as well, rocking the iconic "Concord" Air Jordan Retro 11 with USA-inspired socks in honor of Veterans Day.

Get a look at all the Air Jordan favorites laced up over the past week below, and be sure to let us know who repped the Jumpman the best in the second week of this young NBA season.

Nate Robinson stays with heat on while he plays and he does the same thing off the court. DeRozan has a pretty good sneaker game on court.

Sully, get some longer shorts and shorter socks.

Beasley FTW w/ the VIIs
If anybody has a pair of black/white/red AZG size 11 that they're looking to get rid of, I want them.

Players rocking retros over performance J's..... so is today's shoe tech over hyped or are players more concerned with looking stylish?
More concerned with style. I mean yeah they look good but I'd rather wear the better performance and quality shoe. Which is obviously not what retro Js are for
so the retros werent basketball shoes once upon a time?? im sure they were so these statements are dumb... 'they rather look good than play good' man shut the fuck up... i mean shit they makin millions for a reason, while ur sitting home at ya parents house talking shit... if jordan was gonna give me free shoes ya damn right ill be playing in my retros
they never said the retros weren't basketball shoes, they were just saying they are better shoes with update tech that makes for better performance on the court
whos to say the 'new performance' shoes are better?? because they have flywire or w.e? cmon man just because the hypebeast fucked up the game doesnt mean retros arent legit basketball shoes.. hell it worked for jordan so i guess they aint that bad..
You're implying that a re-retro is an equivalent performance shoe to an OG from 15-20 years ago which is laughable. If you owned OG or even 2000 Concords you'd know they're made for play which is not the case with today's poorly constructed retros made for street style. They WERE great Bball shoes 10-15 years ago (20 in the case of the VIIs) but today's hyped up, overpriced versions aren't anywhere near the quality of materials & construction they used to have. These pros are on top of their game & could prolly throw down the rock in gladiator sandals but there's no way any of them are playin in those for performance reasons over style. As ugly as current Js are over retros they run circles around em in the performance arena.
The 2010 Alts shoulda been 2005s but they look effing DOPE with those digicamo uni's. Nate bringin som Heat especially with those CDP Hares but with the China 9s next to em, he's got some competition... ChiXs looked good. Flint VIIs were a nice surprise and both the Varsity Red VI & Infrareds from the pack looked solid out there. Especially the Infra's.
