For the second time this year, Monkey Time is putting its spin on the Asics Gel Lyte V, a retro sneaker that's been in the backseat during the Gel Lyte III's recent time in the spotlight.
This take, called the "Sand Layer," has the shoe looking straight out of the desert. There are suede and nubuck panels in a sandy grey, along with fuzzy sections at the heel that help separate this design from the inline offerings out there at the moment.
As is the case with most Asics collabs, there is no branding on the upper, but this one still feels special between its materials and sandy colorway.
It looks like this special edition Asics Gel Lyte V already released overseas this weekend – here's to hoping a U.S. sneaker release date is in its future.
